Basic Salary



Grade 12 • A recognized National Diploma/Degree in Fire Technology or SAESI Associate Diploma in Fire Technology (NQF Level 7) • Minimum of Five (05) years’ relevant experience with a Fire Services Management implementing Fire Brigade Services Act. Three (03) years’ experience at a Managerial Level • A valid driver’s license Code EC1 • the incumbent will be expected to have a sound understanding of computer package (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) • The following skills will be an added advantage: Advanced fire Prevention, Fire Investigation, Peace Officer, Ambulance Emergency Assistance (AEA) with Certificate of Registration on Professional Board for Emergency Care Personnel, Advanced Risk Management Health and Safety Representative, Finance for Non-Financial Managers. Command & Control Skills and overall multi-disciplinary incident management.

Key Competency Skills

Knowledge of the Local Government sector and applicable legislation.

Key Performance Areas

Planning of the Fire Bridge Services to ensure the proper long, medium and short term planning for the efficient rendering fire brigade services • Manage the following services to achieve the rendering of the key performance areas: Fire Safety, Fire Fighting, Rescue & Specialist Services • Organizing the Fire Brigade Services to ensure a well-organized and sound functioning of the services • Apply delegation to ensure that all staff members are capacitated to perform to the best of their abilities • Exercise control over the rendering of services to ensure compliance with strategic, management and procedural directives • Communicate management decisions, policies and procedures to ensure that the fire bridge services staff are fully informed and kept abreast of directives and operations.
