Council
The municipality consists of forty councillors(40) of which eight (8) mayoral committe members, the executive mayor, the chief whip and the speaker are full time. Making a total of eleven full time councillors. The council has applied for the fulltimeness of the office of the chairperson of the Municipal Public accounts committee to be full time. The mayoral committee portfolio heads are responsible for the following positions:
· Infrastructure Development & Municipal Services (IDMS)
· Budget and Treasury Department
· Corporate services
· Community Development Services
· Local Economic Development (LED) and Rural Development
· IGR and Policy formulation
· Sports Arts Heritage and Recreation
· Special Programmes Unit (SPU)
