Alfred Nzo District Municipality Members of Council are attending a training to further strengthen their oversight role, good governance and reinforce leadership capabilities as they continue to deliver services to the people of the District.
Organised by the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) in the Eastern Cape in collaboration with Audit and Risk Management Solutions, this Five-day training which commenced today the 19th of May to the 23rd of May 2025 is held under Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality at Wild Coast Sun.
The program aims to equip Council Members with the resources they need to provide better services; assure local governments are receptive to citizens’ needs.
Refresher on the effective & efficient ways of carrying out duties & responsibilities; general knowledge of municipal procedures, authorities, structures, and laws; deeper comprehension of the South African Constitution as it relates to local government; and adherence to the Batho Pele principles for the promotion of democracy, improved community well-being and service provision.
This refresher training is attended by Alfred Nzo District Municipality Executive Mayor, Council Speaker, Whip of Council, Mayoral Committee Members Councillors & Traditional Leaders.
